Pathway Family Center has partnered with Qualigence, a recruiting firm headquartered in Livonia, on September 19th. In addition to other support, the intent is for Qualigence to add a new program called “Plan Your Path”, Career and College Preparation Workshops to the existing Pathway list of services.
The “Plan Your Path” program will include two workshops per quarter for clients in the 4th and 5th levels of treatment. The 5th level is the final level for all clients to complete their treatment. The workshops will be facilitated at each of the three Pathway locations.
The first workshop will be introductory and will include tips for resume writing along with a request for each graduate to return to the 2nd workshop with three job listings that they would be interested in applying for.
The second workshop will be more of a working session that covers interviewing tips, dress for success, how to write an effective Thank You letter, and will also include a brief manual that graduates can keep for reference. This session will also allow Qualigence volunteers to spend one-on-one time with the graduates to edit their resume, answer questions, or help fill out college applications.
The program will be facilitated primarily by Qualigence employees whom will volunteer their time and expertise to spend one-on-one time with the graduating clients of Pathway. All of the Qualigence employees are exciting at this opportunity to help others and give back to the community.
This partnership has been formed, and the program has been created to assist teens in the choices they will be faced with to begin productive lives as they graduate from Pathway as recovered substance abusers. It’s to give them a positive start in college or the working world along with the confidence and motivation to succeed.
