"I have worked in the addictions field, as a counselor, program director, psychologist, professor and researcher for almost 27 years and I have not seen any program with outcome percentages this high"
...Dr. John Franklin, Addiction Studies Professor at
the University of Detroit Mercy

Pathway Family Center has a tried and true program that has helped hundreds of young people go on to lead successful, productive lives.  Objective evaluations by outside professionals consistently find Pathway effective in helping adolescents and their families.  In addition, Pathway provides a considerable savings to families over traditional models of service, with a much greater likelihood of success.

In 1999, the University of Detroit Mercy conducted an independent outcome study of Pathway's past day treatment clients.  82% of the respondents reported being clean and sober within one to three years post graduation, far exceeding the national drug treatment recovery average. Information for the study of Pathway's outcomes was collected from 51 percent of clients and 61 percent of parents with the following results:

98% of adolescents reported that they did not return to prior drug severity
90% reported improved quality of life
88% reported improved self esteem
88% reported improved family relationships
82% presently clean and sober

Drug Strategies, a national research institute promoting effective approaches to the nation's teen drug problem, also recognized Pathway Family Center in its Treating Teens:  A Guide to Adolescent Drug Programs booklet released in 2003.  Pathway was noted for its comprehensive, integrated treatment approach, family involvement and continuing care.  Pathway is the only program  in Michigan and one of only two programs in Indiana identified as meeting the guide's criteria for effective teen treatment.

In 2002, Pathway Family Center received an Indianapolis Families Count Award as one of the top 10 community organizations in the area.  The winners were selected for their strong impact on families.
